I used this also and it works Fantastic...no errors ...
Requirements:- Have the latest iTunes 7.6.2.9 here,
www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm- Your phone must have wifi connection (you need wifi so installer can run & download things ...)
- Download firmware 1.1.4 for IPHONE 2G from apple and have it on your computer
- Download iLiberty+ for windows.
- Remove your SIM pin lock code if you have it.
Virginizing Steps:
- Always make sure your phone settings - general - auto-lock=never (if phone reboot, check it to make sure)
- connect your phone (ignore the itune pop up)
- run iLiberty+
theiphoneproject.org/index.php/downloads?func=fileinfo&id=6 - In iLiberty+, make sure jailbreak check mark is on. Select the installer payload and click go for it. (This will put the installer on your phone). Phone will reboot during this process.
- When done. Run the installer. If it ask you to upgrade, ignore it.
- add
i.unlock.no to the installer sources
- install Community sources
- install BSD Subsystem
- hit home button on phone so your springboard will refresh.
- make sure auto-lock is set to never. go back into installer, go down to unlocking tools and select "the virginizer". This will run and will take 5-10 minutes.
Hopefully, this will run right through without any errors. When done, your baseband is virginized and your are ready to upgrade to 1.1.4.
Note: after virginization, your phone is LOCKED

- Put phone in DFU mode and restore with 1.1.4 firmware you have downloaded.

1. hold power + home
2. In a few sec, red slider appears, continue holding till phone reboots
3. Count to 6
4. let go power
5. Keep holding home until itunes detect it or if you hear a connection tone (like plugging in a usb device on Windows), let go of home.
Screen should be black all the time beginning at step 3
If itunes say it need to check for "... version on the server..", let it check, after that you will see the restore button. shift-click restore (Option-click on Mac) and select the 1.1.4 FW you downloaded
